"White water rafting, zip-lining, rappelling down waterfalls - Costa Rica has it all! I was in Costa Rica for just over 2 weeks in September 2014 doing all of these things, but 10 of those 16 days were spent doing something even better - scuba diving the remote and mysterious Cocos Island (Isla del Coco) aboard the MV Argo. Cocos is owned by Costa Rica, but is located a distant ~350 miles off the Pacific coastline. The island was a favorite stop-over for pirates since it was an abundant source of fresh water, and legends have it that pirate treasure is still buried there somewhere under the lush and dense green canopy that covers this rugged island. The real treasure, however, is found under the waters surrounding Cocos. Tons of fish, schools of Hammerheads, Tiger sharks, Galapagos sharks, and the ever-present white-tips make this a fascinating destination. This was my second trip, and I know I must go back again! Our boat was the M/V Argo, and I simply cannot say enough good things about this boat and her crew. Plus, she carries her own 3-person submersible - which we took to a depth of 1000 feet! But that's another video...coming soon!"
